Lowell, MA – LowellBank announced that for the third consecutive year, area families will again enjoy fireworks as the highlight of the City of Lowell’s 4th of July Holiday Celebration. Ever since 2009, when the City announced that it could no longer provide the funds for 4th of July Fireworks, it has become a tradition for LowellBank to provide the first $5,000 towards what is now a community fundraising effort.
“LowellBank is pleased to continue our tradition of contributing to the funding that assists the City of Lowell in providing a thrilling and entertaining 4th of July fireworks display for the entire area to enjoy. As a community-centered bank we have a strong tie to the residents of the City and hope they enjoy the holiday,” said Richard E. Bolton, Jr., President & Chief Executive Officer. This year’s celebration is particularly poignant as the City celebrates its 175th anniversary. July 4th Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. on July 4, 2011 at the Sampas Pavlion along the Pawtucket Boulevard and will include live entertainment by local bands, The Flip and Air Traffic Controller and singer/ songwriter, Amy Black. Fireworks are set to go off at approximately 9:00 p.m.
